Tournament Results Nebraska fares well at first-ever NIETOC!

The inaugural National Individual Events Tournament of Champions was held May 14-16 in Fullerton, CA. More than 200 students from 54 schools in 16 states participated. Representing Nebraska were Elkhorn, Kearney, Lincoln Southeast, Lincoln Southwest, Millard North and Millard West.

Tournament Results NFL Finalist

The Nebraska South District Congratulates Will Drevo for His Performance at Nationals.

William Drevo from Crete High School in Crete, Nebraska was a finalist in Extemp Commentary at the 2009 National Forensic League (NFL) National Tournament. This accomplishment places him among the top six performers in the nation in this category.

Extemp Commentary is an original synthesis by the speaker of current fact and opinion on the designated topic as presented by numerous sources. Extemp Commentary is one of 16 events at the NFL National Tournament, and event which attracts over 3500 students from all 50 states. This year’s NFL National tournament was held in Birmingham, Alabama, June 14-19.

Drevo placed sixth overall, and is coached by Liz Boyle.
